Tatyana Ali became famous for her role as Ashley Banks in the fresh Prince of Bel-Air back in early to mid-nineties, then from 2007 to 2013 she appeared in the soap opera “The Young and The Restless”. We haven’t heard much from the very beautiful Tatyana about her acting or singing career, but we do know she is happily married to English Professor Vaughn Rasberry, with whom she has two sons Edward and Alejandro.
Since stepping back from Hollywood Tatyana studied African American Studies and Government at Harvard University. Tatyana has won the Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Comedienne in a Television Series for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. In 2011 she won the Living Legacy Award from the Caribbean Legacy Organization in Los Angeles and in that same year she also bagged the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding actor in A Daytime Drama, which she repeated in 2012.
We celebrate Tatyana’s Caribbean heritage during this Women’s History Month for her outstanding achievements as an actor, artiste, wife and mother. Tatyana’s roots are in Panama and Trinidad & Tobago, her mom Sonia is Panamanian and dad Sheriff is Indo-Caribbean. Let’s hear from you soon Tatyana.
