NEW YORK, NEW YORK— Family and friends gathered at Club Bonafide on the East Side of Midtown Manhattan to recognize and pay tribute to the Humanitarian, Activist and Calypso King, Harry Belafonte on his 90th Birthday on Wednesday night March 1st.
With a small and intimate gathering of approximately one hundred guests, his band led by his musical composer Richard Cummings and eighty-four-year-old band member of the 70’s and 80’s Arthur Williams rocked the house with some of the legend favorite songs, including, “Day-O and Jump in the Line.”
While Mr. Belafonte was absent, his eldest son David was in the audience to bask in all the musical tributes. Included in the musical tributes are; Broadway’s Tony Award-nominated star of The Lion King Tsidii La Loka, vocal winning composer Branice Mckenzie and the international award-winning singer/songwriter and entertainer Ty Stephens.
