Actress, singer-songwriter, screenwriter and businesswoman, this diminutive but dynamic lady is a force of nature, her 6’2” husband Will Smith knows that better than anyone else. We all discovered Jada on the TV Series “A Different World,” then followed that with her feature film debut in Menace II Society; but her real breakthrough was realized with playing opposite to Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor, since then this bundle of energy has starred in over 20 films.
In 2002 she co-created a heavy metal band called Wicked Wisdom which launched her music career as singer and songwriter; she then formed a production company with her husband Will, their company has production credits in films, documentaries and television series. She went on to write a children’s book in 2004 for girls titled, “Girls Hold up This World,” married since 1997, Jada is mother to son Jaden, daughter Willow and step-mother to Will’s first son from his first marriage Trey.
This exceptional woman was raised by her mom Adrienne and Jamaican grandmother Marion; it was grandma who detected Jada’s passion for the performing arts who enrolled her in piano, tap dance and ballet lessons, and as the expression goes, “the rest is history.”
