Harlem, New York—Saturday, August 18th, 2018, With this year’s theme, ” Women Transforming Our World” Janet Jackson one of the top female performers of the 21st century graces the Harlem Week “Summer In The City Stage” on 135 Street. Although she didn’t perform, the crowd braved the rain just to see her.
From her long-awaited single in 10 years with Daddy Yankee, Janet entered the stage to the frenzy of screaming fans, as she mingled and joked with kids on the stage, the pop diva was at home in Harlem.
Accepting two awards and a proclamation from the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce presented by the elected officials of the community, Janet gracefully embraced Harlem. In a tribute to her, the Impact Repertory Theatre performed a choreography of her Rhythm Nation song, which caused Ms. Jackson to be visibly moved. Janet thanked the crowd for their continuous support over the years and during her pregnancy.
